The Nuclear Electromagnetic Pulse Threat!

This site is established as a service to provide a place for public awareness of an impending threat to our way of life and that is NEMP or Nuclear Electromagnetic Pulse from a nuclear explosion.

While I have offered services relating to reducing or eliminating the EMP threat to businesses for about 15 years, it as an issue has been under the publics radar and mine a bit as well since there is no demand for this service. 

Recently, however, I attended a EMP seminar in Niagra Falls and many members of the EMP Commission established by congress gave speeches as well as Mike Huckabee, Newt Gingrich, Bartlett, and several congressmen (repubs and dems alike) others all imminent individuals in their own right.  What struck me was the knowledge congress was provided by the commission and has failed to pursue protecting the American people with the threat so great!

The EMP Commission must and should be reauthorized by congress to direct our countrys resources and congress's awareness to reducing our vulnerability to EMP.  Let me put it this way:  Our way of life will cease to exist and a large portion of our country's population is projected to perish from hunger and disease if an EMP burst were to occur over Kansas or really anywhere, at high altitude, better yet read the documents above - make your own assessment!

We are so dependent on microelectronics that our society would cease to function if they were incapable of functioning because there were "fried" internally.  All major power lines for our businesses and houses will be down for about 4 years at 750 key locations in the US alone (large transformers burned up internally - that we no longer produce in this country any more - projected time to replace them is 4 years).  The high voltage insulators will fry and let the wires drop to the ground (Russian Tests) - do we have replacement transformers and insulators ready to go?  NO!  But there are new devices to protect our lines - lets get them installed!  Now here is a "stimulus package" item!

During the cold war we were producing EMP resistant military vehicles - less so now - guess its the "peace dividend" still paying off!  This goes on and on, so I guess the point here is our leaders need to begin to address this issue for us - Iran's support of terrorists activities, etc - North Korea - maybe China are good enough reasons. 

I have been working with the hardware side of electronics and power affecting our computers since the computer and microelectronics came of age, so after reading Lawrence Livermore documents many years ago saw the danger - and because the density of microelectronics packaging is getting more dense - our vulnerability is growing.  (We are already far past being vulnerable - technology has its downside too.. and it is REAL!)

So that is why I published this site... place your electronics in steel cabinets if you are worried.  But public awareness needs to be at the national political level and is the object here.
